Over the past three years I've photographed the Mountain stages of the Tour de France with mirrorless cameras. On the one hand the Tour is easy to access as it's open and un-ticketed. You can literally stand a couple of feet away from the World's greatest cyclists with nothing between you, completely free of charge. On the other hand it can be logistically complex to view thanks to remote regions and road closures. In my article I'll share my experience of visiting and shooting three tours, including researching the routes, planning locations, choosing the best angles and what kind of gear and settings work well at these kind of events.
